Grantunga

Grantunga creates newly composed music rooted in Swedish folk music. The repertory comprises the softest of folk ballads, the hardest of folk rock grooves and everything in between, the group often being influenced by other genres such as world and art music. Grantunga are often working in a project format which creates opportunities to face different forms of art. One can't describe Grantunga's music. One has to experience it.

The band members are all family, four of them siblings and one married to the eldest sister. The different musical experiences of all the the members result in a unique sound with a deep colour of Swedish primitive origin.

Grantunga is an imaginary compound of the two Swedish words Gran (Spruce) and Tunga (Heavy).

Our most recent project is a collaboration together with glass artist Anna-Linda Gabriel.
